The Everett Area School District’s (EASD) partner, The Everett Renaissance Foundation, was the benefactor of a $5,000.00 Educational Improvement Tax Credit donation from First Commonwealth Bank (FCB), on February 21, 2024. The Renaissance Foundation supports EASD’s educational mission and vision, for its students. The funds will be used to focus on supporting EASD’s comprehensive plan

Due to the timing of tomorrow’s potential storm and the current weather advisories that have been issued, the Everett Area School District will be operating on a Flexible Instruction Day, Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Teachers will have assignments, lessons and zoom links posted to Schoology tomorrow morning. Student are to log on and complete assignments, if they have questions, they can contact their teachers via email or the zoom links listed on Schoology.

Next week, we will be administering The Algebra Keystone exam on Monday, January 8 and Tuesday, January 9 for any ninth through eleventh grade student who has taken it previously and did not pass. Those students taking the Keystone exams should go to school as they normally would.
All Seniors, as well as those Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen who DID previously pass their Algebra Keystone Exam DO NOT need to attend until 10:15 on these days. If your student rides the bus or needs to be dropped off at their normal time, they may report at their normal time and should report to the Auditorium until 10:15, at which time the normal school schedule will resume. Any students who are not testing, and have not taken the Algebra Keystone Exam will report at their normal time and follow their normal schedule.
Students in the second session of BCTC will need to check in at the main office before boarding the bus that is scheduled to leave at 10:15. Students, please make sure you arrive earlier than 10:15 to give yourself enough time to sign in at the main office. Students who normally leave for Senior Challenge mid-way through the day will still need to check in at the main office for attendance. If a student doesn’t check in at the main office, they will be marked absent for the day. Despite the change in schedule, you will get a call that your child is absent from school even if they will be coming in late for the day. Attendance will be corrected once students sign in.
If there is any weather-related 2-hour delay or cancellation, the make-up testing will be completed on Wednesday, January 10, with the aforementioned schedule.
The National Honor Society members are boxing up Christmas items for the Hometown Hero project which provides items for our 45 local Veterans from nursing homes in our area. Angela Conner, of Everett VFW Post 2088, is seen here accepting the NHS donation of puzzles, shaving cream, socks and candies.
Next week, we will be administering Biology Keystone exams on Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5 for any students who did not pass the Spring Wave Biology Keystone Exam last school year. We will also be administering the Literature Keystone Exam on Wednesday, December 6 and Thursday, December 7 for any students who did not pass the Spring Wave of Literature Keystone Exams. Those students taking the Keystone exams should go to school as they normally would.

The National Honor Society conducted its annual Thanksgiving Trot to the Turkey Table. The student body brought in all the trimmings to sponsor 23 complete dinners for families in our district that included everything from turkey to pies. Local community businesses generously supported the program also. A special thank you to Everett Flower Shop for their donation of $500.00 and Weis market for $100.00 along with several anonymous donations.
