Chris's educational journey began at Greensburg Salem High School, where his passion for learning and leadership was ignited. He continued his educational pursuit at California University of Pennsylvania, earning his Bachelor of Science in Education. While attending CalU, Chris competed on the Track & Field team, setting school records in the Weight Throw and Hammer throw. Since then, Chris has focused on Technology and Engineering Education, gaining experience teaching grades 8-12 in a variety of school environments. His first experience teaching was in a STEM Academy in Glen Burnie, MD. He then moved on to teach manufacturing and construction at Moshannon Valley Jr/Sr High School before moving on to teach Engineering, Computer Graphics, and Video Production at State College Area High School. While he was a teacher, Chris also owned and operated his own contracting company, where he renovated residential homes, offered handyman services, and eventually built custom furniture based on client needs.

Inspired to make a difference in education, Chris furthered his studies at Penn State University, obtaining his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. With this new-found knowledge, he had the opportunity to lead as the Assistant Principal at the Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center. After deepening his experience in educational leadership, Chris knew he was up for a new challenge, and has found his way here to Everett Area School District.  

Chris brings a broad range of experience in education and leadership to the Everett Area High School. With a passion for student and staff development and academic excellence, Chris plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students. He has spearheaded various initiatives aimed at student development, career counseling, special education support, and academic support. His commitment to student welfare, positive behavior interventions, and personal accountability ensure a positive learning environment where students are optimally challenged and supported. 

Chris prioritizes his role as a devoted husband and father to two boys, but he is equally passionate about guiding students to become well-rounded individuals. He aims to inspire them to discover their passions, fulfill their responsibilities to themselves and society, and find meaning and purpose in their lives.


MR. TRAVIS LEAP, MS PRINCIPAL

Travis Leap is the MS Principal at Everett Area School District in Everett, PA. His leadership at Everett Area Middle School is guided by a philosophy that values safety, happiness, and academic success for all students.

After completing his high school education at Hyndman High School, Travis pursued his passion for music at Lebanon Valley College, earning bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Music Performance in 2004. He furthered his commitment to educational excellence by obtaining a Masters of Education from Saint Francis University in 2019.

A devoted soccer fan, Travis channels his passion for the game into promoting a spirit of collaboration and resilience among students. As an outdoorsman, he enjoys exploring the natural beauty of Pennsylvania, which further nurtures his appreciation for the environment and community engagement.

Travis's hobbies, including photography and music, are integral to his approach to education, allowing him to create a relatable and engaging atmosphere at school. Under his leadership, Everett Area Middle School is not just a place of learning but a community where students are encouraged to explore their passions and develop holistically.

MR. BRANDON TREECE, MS/HS DEAN OF STUDENTS AND DISTRICT CYBER COORDINATOR

Mr. Treece is a 1991 graduate of Everett Area High School and earned his earned his bachelor degree in Education from Shippensburg University in 1995. He was hired at Everett in 2000 as a Social Studies teacher and also served as the varsity boys basketball coach. In 2012, he became the head teacher at Everett Elementary while also serving as the gifted support teacher. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his wife and children.
